The youth of NorthGate are one of the main focuses of our fellowship.
The Gatekeepers are growing in faith and knowledge as well as in numbers.
Tommy Smith, who has a strong background in children’s ministry and inner city missions, pastors the youth along with Bill Yule. His heart is one that desires to see the children and youth discover the goodness of the Lord and to be set free. The atmosphere in the youth meeting is comfortable and fun. The youth get involved with the lessons and are given the opportunity and freedom to bring a word of the Lord themselves with the guidance of their leaders.
Each year the Gatekeepers go the “Acquire the Fire”, a youth rally given by Ron Luce and Teen Mania. Also, every Christmas season they take gifts to children in Radford, Virginia and have a service along with a puppet show to minister to them. There are several other events that the youth go to throughout the year, but what the teens enjoy most is being in the presence of their Lord.
